While the anime only adapted the first five volumes, there’s a treasure trove of material left to explore for a potential season two. Fans have been yearning for a “Campione!” sequel ever since the first season concluded in 2012. And with good reason – the show was a thrill ride! So, is there any hope for a new season? The original 37-episode series debuted in Japan in October 2006 and wrapped up in June 2007. The burning question remains – will a ‘Death Note Season 2 Episode 1’ ever materialize? Is Death Note Season 2 Happening? As of today, a second season of Death Note remains unannounced.  Unfortunately, the odds don’t look great. How Can the Story Continue? With the anime covering the entire manga, your best bet for a full Death Note experience is to dive into the original source material. The show’s enduring popularity proves its massive appeal. So, let’s explore the chances of a third season. How Many Seasons of Black Lagoon Are There? Currently, Madhouse Studio has produced two seasons of Black Lagoon. Both the first season and its follow-up, Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage, consist of 12 episodes. Additionally, fans enjoyed a 5-episode OVA (Original Video Animation) in 2011 titled Black Lagoon: Roberta’s Blood Trail. While the OVA continues the anime’s storyline, most fans still yearn for a full-fledged third season. Will There Be a Season 3 of Black Lagoon? Unfortunately, there’s no official announcement about a third season for the Black Lagoon anime. While the possibility isn’t completely off the table, it does seem unlikely. This long-running series faces a major challenge: a lack of source material from the manga. The author takes extended breaks, and only two new manga volumes have been released in the past decade. This is likely why we received the 5-episode OVA rather than a complete season. Black Lagoon Season 3 Release Date It seems Black Lagoon Season 3 may never happen. The possibility of a release date for this anime series remains slim. If the manga’s release schedule were more consistent, we might have seen a Black Lagoon Season 3 release date long ago. Sadly, after 16 years since the second season,  a release date seems increasingly unlikely. Is Black Lagoon Finished? While the anime adaptation may be complete, the Black Lagoon story lives on! Rei Hiroe’s manga is still ongoing, and the most recent volume was released on August 19, 2021.  This means the anime likely won’t continue the plot. Season 3 of Black Lagoon would pick up the story after the 2011 OVA, adapting the remaining manga volumes.  Unfortunately, that scenario remains unlikely.  If you’re hungry for more Black Lagoon adventures, dive into the manga! There’s little narrative justification for a direct sequel that wouldn’t feel forced or redundant. So, Will There Be a Season 3? While there’s no official green light for Season 3 yet, don’t despair!  “Vinland Saga” took a long break after Season 1, only returning in 2023 (announced in 2022). There’s precedent for these extended hiatuses, so fans shouldn’t lose hope. The good news: the anime has proven financially successful. While Blu-ray sales weren’t stellar, the latest manga volume rocketed past 100,000 copies sold. Plus, the anime is a hit on streaming platforms, further boosting its profitability. This strong financial performance strengthens the case for Season 3. We also have plenty of material left! The first two seasons only covered volumes 1 to 14 of the manga, leaving enough story for roughly two more seasons.
